NUCLEAR SOUP BOWL

Hand carved wooden bowl, made from drift wood from Cardiff's shores.

The wood started to crack after I took it out of it's environment. I  dried it out, choped and carved it. The way the natural material reacted to my control, to me says something about the ecological crisis we are facing. The cracks are starting to show.

The bowl was made in reaction to the Cardiff Grounds 'Nuclear' Mud dumping which begun in October 2018. The dumping was largley regected by the public and local MP Neil Mcevoy who campaigned to stop the dumping until an environmental impact assessment was done and the possible radioactive properties of the mud was reassessed. The dumping went ahead despite the campaign.
